The rating plate
The model and serial numbers from the plate on the appliance itself, not from the paperwork. On a column it is behind the door on the frame; on a wall oven it is on the frame behind the door; on a dishwasher it is on the tub edge.
The behaviour
What it does, when it started, and whether anything changed around it — a storm, a breaker trip, a new water softener, a kitchen renovation.
The address
